CampaignCraig Hoy’s Top Priorities for Tranent

March 22, 2021

As your local candidate for the Holyrood election in May I am pleased to set out my priorities for Tranent.

This was once a Labour heartland area. But no more. That’s because Labour are now too weak and too close to the SNP to make a difference for the residents of Tranent, Macmerry and Elphinstone.

But I will stand up for you – and these are my priorities for our communities:
– Invest in new and expanded community facilities for young people to divert them away from anti-social behaviour, drugs and alcohol misuse.
– Tackle local problems including dog fouling, maintenance of roads and pavements – and take action to combat speeding.
– Support improvements to Tranent High Street to create a vibrant town centre with adequate parking facilities.
– Focus on bringing jobs and investment to the town, to boost the local economy and provide young people with skilled work.
– Ensure that future housing development is controlled, sustainable and affordable, delivering infrastructure and new transport connections in the town.

As always I am keen to engage and happy to help and can be reached at craig@craigforeastlothian.
